QUINCY (WGEM) - After a return to average on Saturday, temperatures will once again be held in check on Sunday as a cold front moves through.
A weak clipper system will brush the Tri-States to the North, bringing light snow to Northern Iowa and Illinois. A few flurries may be possible late Saturday night and early Sunday morning. As the system moves through, that cold front will shift winds to be out of the Northwest, blowing at 10-15mph. This means that Sunday’s high temperature will likely be in the early morning, with temps falling into the teens and 20′s by Sunday afternoon with gradually clearing skies.
The return to below average temperatures will not be long lived however, as another wind shift brings a return to warmer weather in time to start the work week. From Monday onwards through, the Tri-States go through a bit of a roller coaster pattern with temperatures crashing and rebounding several times.
