QUINCY (WGEM) - The Salvation Army exceeded its 2021 Christmas Campaign by more that $35,000.

Campaign co-chair Mandar Dighe said Friday they collected $470,420, well beyond their goal of $435,000.

He said over the past nine years of being in Quincy, the generosity and caring of the people here rivals anywhere he has been in the United States.

“To really step up during a time of need, really step up when there is truly people in this community that need help, and stepping up to help the Salvation Army serve those people, it just says mountains about the generosity and caring of the community,” Dighe said.

Dighe said the future is bright and he believes the people of Quincy will continue to be a team for those in need of help.
