QUINCY (WGEM) - The United Way of Adams County will begin their volunteer income tax assistance, or VITA, program next week and they are looking for more volunteers.

Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Site Coordinator Reggie Freel said they partner with the IRS to provide a free tax service to qualified individuals.

She said, last year, volunteers who helped with intake, screening and preparation, served more than 700 people who needed help.

No matter your skill level, Freel said you can fulfill a job.

“We have positions available for greeters and that’s what we need mostly right now, are greeters. Then there’s just two very small little exams you need to take for that,” Freel said.

To sign up for this program, you can call the United Way of Adams County at (217) 222-5020.
