CARTHAGE, Ill. (WGEM) - Carthage Veterinary Services is once again helping veterans see their memorials.

The Employee Volunteer Steering Committee presented a $1,500 check to Great River Honor Flight Tuesday.

It’s the third year they’ve donated to honor flight like this and they say they’re glad to help.

“During the year in between July and December, we do fundraisers here at work mostly just food we do a breakfast and we also do spaghetti,” said Erin Niekamp of Carthage Veterinary Services.

While honor flights are on hold due to the pandemic, the money is set to help veterans when flights resume later this year.

To date, the great river chapter has flown 1,855 local veterans to Washington D.C. for free.
