QUINCY (WGEM) - The light mist Thursday, that made the roads extremely slick, caused an accident that involved several cars, including a squad car, in Quincy.

Sgt. Mike Tyler said it all happened between South 8th Street and Gardner Expressway around 6 p.m.

Tyler said an officer was parked, responding to a car that had slid off a hill into a ditch, when the road conditions took two other oncoming drivers by surprise.

“With this mist, the roads were so slick a car was going at a very low speed, slid on the ice and slid into a squad car while he was typing his report,” Tyler said.

Tyler said, shortly after that car slid into the squad car, another car came at a slow speed and did the exact same thing.

He said no one was hurt.

No word yet on whether anyone was ticketed.
