QUINCY, Ill. (WGEM) - The Raiders of Quincy Notre Dame have to be one of the hottest prep baseball teams in the Midwest right now as they continue to post win after win on the IHSA post-season diamond. Second seeded QND best top-seeded Shelbyville on Wednesday 2 to 1 during a Class 2A Sectional Semifinal thriller that came right down to the wire in the 7th inning in Pleasant Plains. Less than 24 hours after posting that victory, the “Blue & Gold” were back on the turf at “The Ferd” getting in a few swings in the batting cage and focusing in on their next challenge coming up on Saturday. That’s when QND will compete for a Sectional Championship at 11:00 a.m. against Monoa-Forsyth. The WGEM Sports-Cam caught up with a few of the hard-charging raiders during workouts to get a few thoughts on their win over the Rams in the semifinals and of course...”The Streak!”
