Jayla, an Illinois native, joined the team after graduating from Murray State University with a bachelor's degree in TV Production.
Jayla is originally from Pinckneyville, IL. She attended Pinckneyville Community High School where she participated in the school’s Journalism Club. She also wrote for the school's newspaper: The Bleeding Blue. Jayla attended college in Murray, KY at Murray State University. She became the secretary of Murray State's TV Club.
Jayla moved to Quincy in 2022 to join WGEM News. She enjoys exploring the Tri-States.
In her free time, Jayla enjoys painting, thrifting, photography and videography.
