Brandy McGill

Brandy McGill is an award-winning journalist and news anchor who has been serving communities through television news since 2019. A native of Hattiesburg, Mississippi, Brandy is a graduate of The University of Southern Mississippi, where she earned her degree in Broadcast Journalism.

Throughout her career, Brandy has covered some of the most significant and impactful stories affecting Mississippi and the Gulf South. Most recently, she reported extensively on the Nolan Wells case in Ocean Springs, Mississippi, a case that drew national attention and involved advocacy efforts led by attorney Ben Crump’s team and civil rights leader Al Sharpton.

From the very beginning of her career, Brandy found herself covering historic events. She reported on the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, documented the conversations and demonstrations surrounding Mississippi’s state flag change, and covered numerous community-shaping events. Among the most difficult stories she has reported was the tragic New Orleans New Year’s Eve terrorist attack, including coverage of the youngest victim, 18-year-old Nikyra Dedeaux from Gulfport, Mississippi.

These experiences, along with years of reporting on stories that matter most to local communities, have helped shape Brandy into the strong, reliable, and trusted journalist she is today. She is passionate about informing the public, amplifying important voices, and telling stories that make a difference.

When she’s not in the newsroom, Brandy enjoys spending time with her children, exercising, shopping, and supporting her community whenever possible. Her commitment to service, both on and off the air, continues to drive her work as a journalist and community advocate.
