Dani Tompkins
Multimedia Journalist
Dani Tompkins is a Multimedia Journalist with Alaska’s News Source. She joined the team in July 2025 and draws on her roots in Anchorage to report on the people, places and issues that shape her home state.
Dani graduated from Colorado Christian University in 2025 with a B.S. in Biology and a minor in Digital Media. She discovered digital media in her junior year and began working on film projects around Denver. Dani was part of the Faith+Sports Programming Network media team covering Super Bowl LIX in New Orleans, where she worked as a reporter, videographer and editor. On campus she served as head designer for the student magazine and developed skills in social media management, content creation and newswriting.
When she’s not reporting, Dani can be found outdoors — rock climbing, mountain biking, skiing, hunting, fishing or camping. She also paints in acrylic, often drawing inspiration from Alaska’s landscapes. Dani is excited to stay involved in her home state and tell the stories that matter most.
