Hannibal man charged in ATM theft while on bond for prior ATM incident

HANNIBAL (WGEM) - A man is out on bond after allegedly damaging an ATM over the summer is now facing new charges after another ATM incident on New Year’s Eve.
Hannibal police say Jon Otten, 40, of Hannibal, has been charged with receiving stolen property after a reported ATM theft Friday in the 100 block of Lindsey Drive.
Police say the ATM sustained extensive damage and a large sum of money had been removed.
On Monday, Hannibal police reported Otten was arrested Saturday after police searched his residence in the 500 block of Head Lane. Police said during the search they found a large sum of cash and tools believed to have been stolen in a Dec. 21 commercial burglary that reportedly happened in the 4300 block of Paris Gravel Road.
Police said at the time of his arrest, Otten was out on bond for a June 26 incident where court records indicate he was charged for property damage after an ATM sustained damage. That ATM also was in the 100 block of Lindsey Drive.
Police said they are continuing to investigate and more charges could be issued.
